How to buy Angora Spinning Fiber

Angora is the name of the fiber that comes from the long wooled breeds of rabbit developed and bred selectively for this trait. In the United States, there are 4 breeds approved by the American Rabbit Breeders Association for show and one breed not approved by the ARBA but  raised under it's own set of standards. The ARBA breeds are the English, French, Satin and Giant Angoras and the fifth breed is the German Angora. Each breed has distinct body and wool characteristics and produces a different style of fiber for spinning. Each different type of fiber will produce a distinctly different type of yarn as a finished product. Click on the photos to learn more about the specific breeds and the wool that each produces. Some links may take you off site to learn more about specific breeds of angora rabbits.
